What are football doubles?

A football double involves the purchase of tickets that have links to hidden random numbers. The winner of each round’s prize is determined by the individual who purchased the ticket with the jersey numbers of the first try-scorers for each team. In the event that one or both teams fail to score a try, the number 9 will be accepted as the proxy try-scorer for the “tryless” team.
There are 289 Footy Doubles available for sale each time. This represents the combination of numbers from the 17 players from each team.
There is one set of doubles numbers linked to each ticket. There are new tickets for each game. The links and therefore the sets of double numbers are re-sorted in a new random order for each game.
